the 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvee Réservée is a classic

and they only use French oak barrels

as the wine's tannins have mellowed nicely since I originally tasted this wine

Once again there is enough reduction to mask the nuances of the underlying fruit

with a tremendously long finish
