The Miniature Naval General Service Medal

This was discontiunued in 1974 when the Queen's Gallantry Medal was established

Instituted in 1918 alongside the Air Force Cross

Throughout the Second World War and post-war period

It is at a level below the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross and is at the equivalent level to the Distinguished Service Cross (for exemplary gallantry at sea) and the Distinguished Flying Cross (for exemplary gallantry in the air)
