The 2004 Brane-Cantenac is a far better wine than the 2003

Jean Chartron, Batard Montrachet Vintage:2023 eventually leaves notes of spices(from a . 13 ha parcel on the Puligny side). Slightly riper aromas include those of both yellow and white peach, poached pear and a broad array of spice nuances, all of which is again trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is fine intensity to the larger scaled, if not especially dense, flavors that still flash ample power on the clean and dry finale that is sufficiently tightly wound to repay a decade, perhaps even a bit longer, of aging.
