This is a great record for those folk music fans who prefer a murder ballad to a jaunty sea shanty for Lankum (formerly operating under the name of Lynched) are a quartet clearly drawn to the darker side of things. In fact, their approach to traditional song (and, it should be added, a couple of self penned items) leans heavily towards the Gothic. The tone is set from the opening drone as What Will We Do When We Have No Money?
