Mutilatini is a distinct Merlot from Friuli Colli Orientali, where the vineyard is situated on a northwest facing slope near the village of Buttrio. The name derives from an old villa that once housed a boarding school for children of World War I veterans. Here, in the classic "Ponca" soils a mix of calcareous clay and sandstone the Merlot grape thrives and develops with a
