It is not known for certain whether it was intended as a Christmas decoration to hang on the Christmas tree, as it had no loop. It is made from two strips of yellow and green paper. The Christmas heart measures 10 cm x 10 cm and was made in the 1860s. One source states that it was made in 1862 and that it was given as a present to H. C.
